A rare G5 geomagnetic storm not seen since Halloween 2003 supercharged skies and provided an opportunity to capture some great pictures. The first three pictures we caught Saturday Morning when we woke up around 12:30 am. They were right overhead and a bit to the west. Saturday night it started out slow, at about 11:30 pm, with a barely visible streak just above the northern horizon. The aurora continued to build and we were able to enjoy the display for just over an hour, before we gave up and went to bed.
