This is a historical image from the Milwaukee Journal. In the late 1980’s a reputed gangster, Joseph Ferriola, from Chicago built a house on an island on the south shore of Big Green Lake.

Here is a nice view of the Lawson Estate Area during the 1960’s when it was called the American Baptist Assembly.  Looking south, you can see the fully wooded and sparsely populated Sugarloaf on the south shore of Norwegian Bay. Postmarked 1961

This is a view looking north. Lone Tree Point is at the lower center.  The pool at the Roger Williams Inn has not been removed at this time.
