This morning I finished the Green Lake Station page. I learned quite a bit about this area as I was working on this page. It looks like they rebuilt the Dartford Inn after the devastating fire in 2022.
The Original C&NW right of way is still visible on the Google satellite view. The Northwestern Trail that connects Lauree’s Trail with the city of Ripon are the remnants of the right of way. The trail goes all the way through Ripon, and turns north to continue it’s path to Berlin. It is a really nice smooth trail with very easy grades.
A while ago I acquired a really interesting part of Green Lake history. It is a little booklet that was produced by the C&NW in 1897 to promote travel to Green Lake.
